Are you Motivated?

What choices in life will you choose? What path's will you take to succeed? Don't ever settle just to get by in life, you must have that determination and be "motivated" to reach your dreams. It's really easy to NOT do anything and continue to live your life on a plateau.  If something doesn't work the first time you try it, don't give up and say "I can't do this." It took Thomas Edison over 2,000 times to invent the lightbulb! I'm sure he wanted to give up after 50 times, but you know what, he didn't! He was motivated and look at his outcome, he invented a product that EVERYONE uses and created a name for himself.  I don't know about you, but that's how I want to live my life.

Everyday, no matter what time of day, the thought of success runs through my head. I think about what I can do to better this world, to better myself, and to fulfill my dreams. We all have talents as well as a purpose here. Are you going to use your talents to the best of your ability, or are you going to throw them down the drain and let them go to waste?  Hang around friends and family who have the same goals as you,  because we all know the saying, "you are the company you keep."  If you hang around people who have nasty attitudes and don't plan on doing anything with their life, guess what? Your following in their footsteps and you will end up replicating their habits.

The lesson for today is stay motivated and stay determined! When times get hard, that doesn't mean it can't be done, that just means your closer to success.  Stay positive and keep driving foward, and remember, always "Reach for the Stars."

What's your Passion?

Everyone has a passion, and along with that passion brings dreams. We all must crawl before we walk, so don't ever give up. My name is Kevin and my passion is writing Poetry.  I am always putting my brain to work because it's the most powerful part of the human body.  You never know what you can do until you put your mind to it!  I wrote this poem below to give any and everybody inspiration through their journey of life.

“Reaching for the Stars”

With an endless imagination, all your dreams can come true

Heart and determination is the number one clue

Don’t think small, think big as a star

And never give up when times get hard

Back to the clue, do you know what you want?

If the passion’s in your heart, you’re now determined to start

But don’t get discouraged; people will want you to fail

That should be encouragement for you to prevail

Now clue two, do whatever it takes

And keep your eyes on the prize, there will be mistakes

But you did it, your there, how did you make is this far

Just smile and tell people that you “Reached for the Stars”

Reach for the Stars and sore high! My father always told me and still to this day tells me, "Sky's the limit son, you can do whatever you put your mind to!" I am a firm believer in that, and I believe anybody can accomplish their goals in life.  I have worked a lot in my life, many different jobs here and there.  I don't think anybody wants to work a day job for the rest of their life, unless it's something they have a passion for.  What do you think? Getting up early to work for someone else to make them more money, I don't think so! Why not find what you truly want to do in your heart and go after it?  After all, if you can see it, you can achieve it right?

See, our mind is very powerful, and when we add our heart into play the results are endless! That's why I have developed a passion for writing.  I put my heart into my work and use my mind to produce it.  Just like it says in my poem, "heart and determination is the number one clue."  You must put your heart into whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish, that's a clue to success. If something frustrates me, I can pick up my pen and pad to soothe my nerves. I can put my brain to work by taking that frustration off of whatever it is that's frustrating me and put my thoughts on paper. Writing is both my dream and my passion. Even though I work a day job now and I love where I work, at the end of the day, poetry is where my heart lies. Anybody can get up and go to work each day, but is that what you really want to do for the rest of your life?  Take a look in the mirror at your life and compare your day job with your passion. Follow your hopes and dreams, achieve your goals and most importantly...Reach for the Stars!
